Our philosophy

We believe that we are the heart and soul of Tuscaloosa’s cycling community. Founded in 2006, VeloCity Cycles has been proudly serving all types of cyclists, including new and veteran riders, road and mountain aficionados, and recreation and transportation cyclists.

Co-owner’s, Adam Lilly and Morgan Hunt, took their passion for bikes and poured it into VeloCity to create an environment where all could be welcome into the cycling community. They take their love of cycling and pour it into Tuscaloosa’s community. We don't just spend our time in the shop servicing and selling bikes, though that's where you can find us much of the time. We thoroughly believe in contributing to our community by volunteering time and resources into programs that are building confidence and skills in the next generation of riders, like Little Bellas and the Tuscaloosa Mountain Flyers. We personally find community in the West Alabama Mountain Biking Association and the Druid City Bike Club, and we love supporting those clubs and their events.

Come by and test ride a bike, pick our brains for advice, or get recommendations on saddles or gear.

Join us on a ride or in a workshop

If you haven't realized yet, we love the community aspect of riding bikes. We regularly schedule beginner rides that are family friendly and also host experienced road, trail, and gravel rides.

We have also started our Wrench'n Wednesday Workshop series to teach community members about bike repair and maintenance. Keep an eye on our Group Rides and Events tab for info about upcoming events!

Bike focused service, but not limited to bikes

We don’t only service bicycles -  we also work on wheelchairs, scooters, and walkers.

We take pride in working with the University of Alabama Adapted Athletics Program on their chairs and equipment!

Feel free to ask us about servicing anything that has wheels! Check our our Bike Repair & Service tab for info about service packages.
